Raipur. On the instructions of IGP Raipur Amresh Mishra and SSP Santosh Singh, Raipur Police is emphasizing on preventive actions, action against miscreants and dens, visible policing and action against drug abuse. 7970 crimes have been registered under IPC/BNS in Raipur district since February till now. Last year, 8224 crimes were registered during the same period. There has been a partial decrease of 3 percent in crimes during this comparative period.
Last year, there have been 102 incidents of stabbing instead of 171 and 58 incidents of murder instead of 54. There has been a 40 percent decrease in stabbing, 7 percent increase in murder. There has been a 28 percent decrease in molestation/sexual violence, 8 percent in rape, 9 percent in theft and 3 percent in assault. Due to the Mukt Abhiyan against drug abuse being run since February this year, the increase in the total registered crimes is being reflected due to the increase in the cases registered under NDPS and Excise.
