‘The Kerala Story’ crosses Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in 9 days

The Kerala Story: The Hindi film, directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Adah Sharma, was released in 37 countries on 12 May.
“The Kerala Story” has collected Rs 112.99 crore in nine days after its release at the Indian box office, makers said on Sunday.
In a press note, production house Sunshine Pictures said that the film earned Rs 19.5 crore on Saturday, taking its total domestic earnings to Rs 112.99 crore.
“The Kerala Story”, a film on adaptation that has polarized political discourse in the country, leading to a ban in some states and tax-free status in others hit the screens on May 5.

Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Adah Sharma, the Hindi film was released in 37 countries on 12 May.
Produced by Vipul Shah, “The Kerala Story” depicts how women from Kerala were forced into conversion and recruitment by the terrorist group Islamic State (IS).
The film has been banned in West Bengal and multiplexes in Tamil Nadu have stopped screening it citing law and order situation, while BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have given it tax-exempt status.
