The state government will take necessary steps after discussing all the suggestions of apple growers, jobbers, cold storage owners and other stakeholders for the development of apple production and industry related to it. Decisions on all important issues will be taken keeping in view the upcoming apple season. The state government has taken the initiative to listen to all the suggestions and will now bring results through action. This information was given by Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi during a meeting held with apple growers, jobbers, cold storage owners and other stakeholders of the state here today.
He said that the Congress government has always been working for the interests of the farmers and horticulturists of the state and it will be our responsibility to protect the interests of the horticulturists in the future as well. We have patiently heard the issues, problems and suggestions of all the stakeholders of the apple industry. The government has given everyone a fair chance to present their side. Now we will try to provide benefits to all people by taking necessary decisions.
During the meeting, implementation of packing standards, apple trade, transportation, rental of apple products, trade outside vegetable markets, universal carton, purchase of apples by kg, Legal Metrology Act, availability of branded pesticides and special investigation team were discussed. . Apart from this, work to be done before packing standards, licensing authority for apple trade and role of Agricultural Produce and Marketing Limited Act in implementation of packaging standards were also discussed in detail.
