Raigarh. Jute Mill police arrested Sahil Bhardwaj (22), the accused in the rape case of a minor, and sent him to jail on judicial remand. The matter came to light on December 05 when the victim’s father lodged a complaint at the police station. He told that his daughter was upset for the last few days.
On interrogation, she revealed that Sahil Bhardwaj had been talking to her for about one and a half years by trapping her in a love trap and on November 03, he forcibly had physical relations with her. Sahil used to harass and follow her continuously. On the basis of the application, Jute Mill Police Station Incharge, Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj registered a case against the accused under Crime No. 495/2024 Section 351 (2), 65 (1), BNS 4 POCSO Act. The police recorded the statement of the victim and got her medical examination done. Thereafter, a special team was formed to arrest the accused and raids were conducted and he was taken into custody. After the arrest of the accused, he was medically examined and produced in the court, from where he was sent to jail in judicial custody.
