According to the data, a total of 466,409 units were exported last month. In September 2023, 391,717 units were exported worldwide. In such a situation, car manufacturers exported 19.1% more cars last month as compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, the two-wheeler segment had the highest exports last month. In September 2024, 372,481 units were exported in this segment. 302,220 units were exported in the same period last year.
In the passenger vehicle segment, 67,379 units were exported last month. This number was 60,079 units in early September 2023. However, the passenger vehicle segment has declined by 14.4 percent this year compared to last year, while commercial vehicle exports have increased by 74.4 percent. Demand for vans also declined by 42.1 percent.
According to the SIAM report, exports of three-wheelers also fell by 10.6 percent last month. Last month, 25,971 three-wheeler units were exported, up from 29,052 units in early 2023.
According to the SIAM report, exports grew by 13.3 percent in the second quarter from July to September. During this period, a total of 1,335,681 units were exported from India. Whereas in the second quarter of 2023 this number was 1,179,008 units.
