Raipur. The police are continuously conducting raids to nab those involved in illegal activities. In this regard, under the direction of Inspector General of Police Amresh Mishra, instructions have been given to nab anti-social elements and those involved in illegal activities.
In compliance with these instructions, under the guidance of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh, 100 separate police teams, led by gazetted police officers, simultaneously raided the possible hideouts of those involved in drug trafficking/smuggling, those with permanent/arrest warrants, and those disrupting peace.
In the campaign, separate police teams conducted surprise raids in all BSUP colonies, Rajiv Awaso, and slum areas. Under the campaign, 02 accused were arrested while selling intoxicants and about 15 kg of ganja and 440 pieces of banned intoxicant tablets were seized from them. 12 accused who were selling liquor illegally were arrested and 183 quarters of liquor were seized from them.
In the same sequence, 05 accused who were illegally possessing weapons were arrested and 05 knives were seized from their possession and action was taken under the Arms Act. Under the special campaign, the police team raided the possible hideouts of the absconding accused and executed 37 permanent/arrest warrants. Also, action was taken under restrictive sections against 111 accused who were disturbing the peace.
