Raigarh. On January 29, the family of the minor girl lodged a report at Jutmil police station that their daughter had gone away from home without informing on the morning of January 19. A crime under section 363 IPC was registered against an unknown accused at Jutmil police station and taken up for investigation. During the investigation, no specific information was received from the girl’s family members, friends and acquaintances. Police station in-charge Jute Mill Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj was investigating the girl’s social media account and interrogating the boys and girls who came in contact with the girl. Then information was received that the girl was in Sarangarh Chauhan Para. Immediately police station in-charge Jutmil and his staff were sent to Sarangarh.
Where the girl was found near Chauhan Para Sarangarh, resident of Tamas alias Sumit Chauhan. The girl and suspect Sumit were brought to Jutmil police station. When the girl was interrogated by the female officer, on the morning of January 19, the girl told that Tamas alias Sumit Chauhan had lured her away with the promise of marrying her and keeping her as his wife and establishing physical relations without consent. On the basis of the girl’s statement and medical grounds, adding sections 366, 376 IPC and 6 POCSO Act to the case, the accused Tamas alias Sumit Chauhan has been arrested and sent on judicial remand, informing him of the reasons for the arrest.
