The committee studying the Centre-State relations held a meeting with the CM

Tamil Nadu : The committee constituted to study the Centre-State relations met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Secretariat on Monday and held discussions. A separate office has been set up for this committee at the Chepauk Guest House in Chennai.

A committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Kurian Joseph has been constituted to protect the legitimate rights of the states granted in the Indian Constitution and to improve relations between the Central and State Governments. The members of this committee are former Vice Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University and retired IAS officer Ashok Vardhan Shetty and former Deputy Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission Professor M. Naganathan.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced this in the Assembly. After this, the committee headed by Kurian Joseph has started its work.

Consultation with the Chief Minister: Before starting their work, the chairman and members of the committee met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at the Secretariat on Monday and held discussions with him. At that time they informed him about the work to be done by them.

Further, a special office has been set up at the Old Guest House, Chepauk, Chennai to facilitate the functioning of the High Level Committee. All the infrastructure for the office has been set up here and a signboard has been put up at the entrance of the hotel stating that this is the office of the High Level Committee on Centre-State Relations.
