The bodies of a woman and her child were found floating in a pond

Nagaon: The bodies of a woman named Rashmita Hazarika and her eleven-month-old baby girl were found floating in a pond behind her house in Kampur Ghilani village here last night. Following the sensational incident, the parents of the deceased woman at Biswanath Chariyali lodged an FIR in this regard today, alleging that the married woman and her child were murdered by her husband’s family due to dowry and tried to pass off the whole case as a mere suicide.

The family members of the deceased woman also alleged that the deceased was being harassed for a long time over dowry demands and when she told her parents about this on phone, her parents wanted to take her back to their house.

But her husband’s family members stopped them from doing so. Amid such ongoing developments, the bodies of the woman and her eleven-month-old baby girl were found floating in a pond behind their house, the family members of the deceased alleged that she and her child were thrown into the pond after being murdered.
