The administration’s indifferent attitude towards the black spots on the National Highway

Raigarh. Heavy vehicles parked at the black spot of National Highway Kanshiram Chowk have once again raised serious questions on the security system of the city. The result of the negligence of the traffic department and the arbitrariness of the transporters is that this square has become a ‘death zone’. Accidents have become common here, but the responsible officers are still sitting as mute spectators.

Improvement on paper, situation worse on the ground…

Some time ago, the traffic department had completed the formality by putting up a no parking board at this black spot, but the reality is that dozens of heavy vehicles are parked at the square every day. This scene not only highlights the failure of the administration, but also the fearless attitude of the transporters. The haphazard parking of these vehicles has become a serious threat to pedestrians and drivers. A mixture of fear and negligence…

The vehicles associated with Mahindra warehouse, Salvet and other transport companies waiting for hours at Kanshiram Chowk is an open invitation to accidents. The number of overloaded cement trucks and heavy vehicles increases even more during the rainy season, when the cement cannot be emptied in the warehouses. In such a situation, these vehicles remain parked on the roads for 2-3 days, due to which the lives of pedestrians are always in danger.

Road safety or show-off signal? …. The traffic signals installed by the department have also now become a part of show-off. The entire traffic system has been left to the mercy of the signals, while no regular monitoring is done here. Is it not the responsibility of the administration to understand the seriousness of this “death zone” and take immediate corrective steps?

The rule of arbitrariness and the silence of the administration….

Local residents say that the arbitrariness of the transporters has increased to such an extent that they now openly flout the rules. It has become common for transporters to park heavy vehicles on the roads, and the number of road accidents is increasing every day. But the administration is still silent – is some big accident being waited for?

In this situation, the common passersby are the most affected, whose lives are now in danger due to these heavy vehicles. Students, drivers and pedestrians coming from near Sanskar Public School have to travel from the opposite direction every day. Due to this indifference of the administration, people are forced to travel with their lives at stake.

When will the responsible wake up?…

If the arbitrariness of transporters continues like this due to departmental negligence and administration’s ignorance, then Kanshiram Chowk can soon witness another big tragedy. The question is when will the responsible officers wake up and for how long will this ‘black spot’ remain a threat to the lives of passersby? Will action be taken only after a major accident, or will this serious situation be controlled in time?

Voice of the society or the administration’s outer wall?…

There is deep resentment among the local residents and passersby towards the government and administration. If strict action is not taken against these heavy vehicles in time, then the result of this negligence can be dire.
