Thane: Rs 30,000 lost for milk worth Rs 499

Maharashtra: A case of online fraud of Rs 30,490 has come to light by asking a person for a monthly subscription of Rs 499 for milk. A case has been registered in this regard at Kapurbawdi police station. The victim of the fraud lives in Kolshet area. He always makes online purchases with his credit card. A few months ago, an advertisement came on his mobile that he would get milk for a month on a subscription of Rs 499. Since the complainant was interested in taking this subscription, he started making transactions of Rs 499 from his credit card.

As soon as the transaction was done, a transaction of Rs 30,490 was done from the credit card. After this, he emailed the concerned website and his bank to stop the transaction. After this, the bank told the complainant in whose account this transaction was done. The complainant got this information. On realizing that he was cheated, he lodged an online complaint on the cyber website. After that, a case has been registered in this regard at Kapurbawdi police station. It seems that for the last few days, cases of online fraud are increasing day by day.
