TG Speaker Refused To Take Action Against Those Mlas Who Switched The Parties

Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad has refused to expel two MLAs, Kale Yadav and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who have defected from the party. The Speaker ruled that MLAs Kale Yadav and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy remain in the BRS party and there is no evidence that they have changed parties.

Chevella MLA Kale Yadayya and Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy have filed a complaint with the Speaker alleging that they had defected to the Congress party after winning the last assembly elections from the BRS party. BRS MLAs Jagadish Reddy and Chinta Prabhakar have filed a complaint with the Speaker. The arguments in the Speaker’s Tribunal have already been completed. The Speaker delivered the verdict at 2:30 pm on Thursday.

The Speaker has dismissed the petitions of five MLAs in the past as well. The 10 MLAs who won from the BRS party in the last assembly elections have since stayed away from that party and are in favor of the ruling Congress. In this context, the BRS is demanding disqualification of them. But the Speaker has been dismissing the petitions of the BRS MLAs, stating that there is no technical evidence.
