Sub-zero temperature continued in Kashmir today with Srinagar recording a low of minus 4.8°C while day temperature continued to rise across the region and stayed above normal for a second consecutive day.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of minus 4.8°C which was slightly higher than previous night’s minus 5.2°C. The temperature of the city was below normal by 4.4°C for this time of the year.
Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 6.4°C, same as on the previous night. The minimum temperature was 4.9°C below normal for the town.
Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 10.3°C against minus 11.9°C on the previous night and it was 4.1°C below normal for the resort.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 9.0°C against minus 12.0°C on the previous night and the temperature was below normal by 2.3°C for the skiing resort.
The Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather till February 17. “Overall, dry weather is expected till February 17 with occasionally cloudy evenings during February 14.” It has also forecast rain and snowfall during February 18-20.
Srinagar recorded a maximum of 11. 5 degree Celsius temperature today which was 2.3 degree Celsius above normal for the city for this time of the year.
Qazigund recorded a maximum of 9.6 degree Celsius which is 0.5 degree Celsius above normal.
Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 8.0 degree Celsius which is 2.1 degree Celsius above normal.
Kupwara recorded a maximum of 11.6 degree Celsius which is 3.0 degree Celsius above normal.
Kokernag recorded a maximum of 9.1 degree Celsius which is 1. 9 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg recorded a maximum of 5.8 degree Celsius which is 4.4 degree Celsius above normal for the place during this time of the year.
