Telangana: People tried to obstruct gram sabhas in some villages of Jangaon

Hyderabad: A tense situation prevailed during the gram sabha held in some villages of Lingala Ghanpur mandal in Jangaon district on Wednesday, January 22, when officials were reading out the beneficiary list of Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, Indiramma Illu and new ration card. The gram sabha began at 9 am at the Lingala Ghanpur mandal headquarters. Still, people disrupted it till around 11.45 am, saying that many eligible names were missing in the list of beneficiaries being read out. One of the people threw papers on the table of the officials who were reading out the names from the stage. Despite MPDO Jalandhar Reddy’s efforts to convince the people, they did not listen. Additional Collector of the local body Pinkesh Kumar told the people that inclusion of eligible beneficiaries in the list is a continuous process and people need to cooperate with the government to hold the gram sabha.
