Hyderabad. Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested K. Venkat Narsi Reddy, additional director of Medchal-Malkajgiri District Industries Centre, after he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 45,000 from complainant Kethavath Ramesh. Reddy had allegedly demanded the bribe from Ramesh, a resident of Yellammabanda in Kukatpalli, for official favours to inspect a tipper vehicle purchased for Rs 53 lakh under the Telangana State Dalit Entrepreneurs Incentive Scheme (TSPRIDE) and submit a report to higher authorities for sanctioning incentives under the scheme.
The ACB officials said Reddy had performed his duty improperly and dishonestly, adding that the bribe amount was recovered from Reddy’s diary and the contact portion of the diary was found positive in chemical test. The ACB officials produced Reddy before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally.
