According to party sources, the leaders were not happy with not getting entry during the assembly elections. A Rajendra, who had hoped to win the seat from Malkajgiri in 2009, declined the candidature and was replaced by former MLC N Ramachandra Rao as the party candidate. Similarly, Jayasudha was expected to get the ticket from Secunderabad, but it was given to Mekala Sarangapani, who suffered a huge loss.
According to reports, Vikram Gaur, who had secured the ballot paper for Goshamahal from the party’s state leadership, became disheartened after the ballot paper was handed over to MLA T Raja Singh.
