Hyderabad: The joy of Makar Sankranti turned into sadness for some families in Telangana when at least five people lost their lives in incidents related to the flight of comets recently. While four youths lost their lives due to electric shock or falling from the roof, one soldier became a victim of cowardly ‘Manjha China’. Four of these deaths occurred in Hyderabad, while a youth was murdered in the neighboring district of Sangareddy. A 20-year-old youth died after falling from the roof of his apartment complex in Hyderabad’s Pet Basheerabad on Sunday night. Akash, a second-year student, was the son of an assistant sub-inspector of police from Rajasekhar, who was posted at the Alwal Commissionerate. According to the police, Akash fell from the roof of his five-storey apartment while a comet flew by and died in the incident. A 30-year-old man died of electrocution while flying a comet on the roof of a house at two plants in Jogipet town in Sangareddy district on Sunday. While the Comet was flying, Subramaniam came in contact with a high tension cable and the building collapsed. His wife Chamundeshwari Devi fought while trying to save him. The couple was transferred to Sangareddy but Subramaniam died on the way. His wife was undergoing treatment. Subramaniam had come to his in-laws’ house from Isnapur to celebrate Makar Sankranti with his wife and two sons. 11-year-old Tanishq died of electrocution while flying a comet on the roof of an apartment building in Attapur on Saturday. The boy flies with his friends in the courtyard of an apartment building. According to the police, he came in contact with high tension electric wire and died. In the second incident, a child lost his life while flying on a rooftop with his friends in Nagole. 13-year-old K., a Class 8 student in a public school in Nagole. Shiva Prasanna, fell from the roof of a four-storey building while a comet was flying by. He fell on the plastered ceiling of an adjacent house and was seriously injured. He was shifted to a private hospital, where he died. A child also died after coming in contact with an electric live wire during the flight of a comet in Nagarkurnool. He has been shifted to Hyderabad for treatment. Electricity officials advised people not to go near electrical installations, saying metal wires recovered from hands could cause electric shock and cut off the supply network. “Metal wire or metal reinforced wire, metal covered wire (manjha) is a good conductor of electricity and can cause electrical discharge when it touches or is near a power line,” an official said. ” A cowardly man from China killed a soldier in Hyderabad. Kagithala Koteswara Reddy, 30, slit his throat with a small Chinese (nylon/synthetic) thread while riding a scooter.
