Telangana: Collector reviews postal ballot arrangements

Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has directed officials to ensure that the postal ballot process for municipal election duty staff is smooth and error-free. On Sunday, the Collector inspected the Postal Ballot Facilitation Center set up at the Gadwal Municipal Office to enable municipal election duty staff to exercise their voting rights through postal ballots in their respective municipalities. During the inspection, he reviewed the number of applications received for postal ballots and verified the details entered in the forms provided to the staff.

The Collector interacted with the staff at the help desk and provided necessary instructions. He emphasized that the details of employees who applied for postal ballots, those who used them, and those who failed to do so must be strictly recorded in the prescribed register as per the rules. He closely monitored the entire postal ballot process and instructed officials to cross-check the details of voters casting postal ballots with the municipality’s ward-wise voter lists. He further directed that postal ballot boxes be sealed in the presence of representatives from various political parties. Emphasizing the importance of accuracy and accountability, the Collector instructed the staff on postal ballot duty to perform their duties with utmost care to avoid any mistakes. He also stated that after the postal ballot process is completed, postal ballots should be handed over to the respective presiding officers according to the ward.

Additional Collector Narasimha Rao, Gadwal Municipal Commissioner Janaki Ram Sagar, Master Trainers Venkatesh and Vishnu, and other officials were present during the inspection.
