Telangana CM promises to fill 40,000 job vacancies

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Wednesday that the state government will fill 40,000 vacant posts in the next two and a half years.

Addressing a public meeting in Husnabad, the Chief Minister said that the government recruited 60,000 employees in its first year.

As part of the celebrations marking the completion of two years of the Congress government, the Chief Minister visited Husnabad in Siddipet district and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹262 crore.

CM Revanth Reddy recalled that on this day in 2023, the people ended the rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

He said, “Today is important for two reasons. First, Telangana martyr Srikanth Chari sacrificed his life by setting himself on fire for the state of Telangana, and second, the people overthrew the dictatorial BRS regime in the state.” The Chief Minister claimed that the Congress government is fulfilling the expectations of Telangana’s martyrs by filling jobs and providing employment opportunities to the youth.

Launching a scathing attack on the previous RBS government, he said that the Kaleshwaram project, built at a cost of ₹1 lakh crore, collapsed in just three years. Congress governments built numerous projects in the state, and all the structures remained strong for decades.

Revanth Reddy also criticized the previous BRS government for neglecting the Husnabad assembly constituency. The BRS rulers focused only on the development of Gajwel, Siddipet, and Sircilla.

He said that during the 10-year BRS rule, no double-bedroom houses were provided to the poor in Husnabad. He alleged that BRS leaders used Husnabad as a platform for political campaigns.

The Chief Minister said that the government waived agricultural loans up to ₹2 lakh, providing relief to farmers from the mounting debt burden. He said, “Since Congress came to power, we have spent ₹1.40 lakh crore for the welfare of farmers. We have spent ₹8,000 crore on free travel for women in RTC buses.”

Elaborating on his government’s initiatives, Revanth Reddy said that self-help groups were promoted as owners of RTC buses. New ration cards were issued to beneficiaries, and distribution of quality rice was started. He said that the government is also providing 200 units of free electricity to approximately 5 million families.

Expressing confidence that the “people’s government” will remain in power for 10 years, he promised to build 2 million houses for the poor.

He appealed to the people to elect good candidates as sarpanch who can work closely with ministers and MLAs for the development of villages.

CM Revanth Reddy recalled the struggle of Sardar Sarvai Papanna to strengthen the backward community in Hussainabad.

He said that the people of Karimnagar played an important role in the formation of Telangana. Sonia Gandhi had promised statehood to Telangana in Karimnagar and fulfilled her promise.

The Chief Minister told the crowd that he had gone directly to Hussainabad from Delhi after inviting Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Telangana Rising Global Summit.
