New Delhi: Union Minister and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy on Thursday said that it is for the common people of the country to decide who will be their Prime Minister and as of now he is not interested in making Congress MP Rahul Gandhi their Prime Minister. ‘Fundamentally failed formula’ as their leader. Reddy’s comment came after the statement of YS Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, in which she had said that it was her father’s dream to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of the country. “People are not willing to do this. This cannot be done by Sharmila ji or anyone else. To make anyone the Prime Minister, the common people will have to do this. But his (Rahul Gandhi) formula has failed.
Rahul Gandhi’s medicine is a failure. Their formula is basically a failure,” the Telangana BJP chief told reporters on Thursday. Earlier today, Sharmila merged YSRTP with Congress in the presence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge in a program organized at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters here. She said, “It was my father’s dream to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister and I will work in this direction.” Sharmila is the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Addressing supporters after joining the Congress party, Sharmila said, “Today, I am very happy to merge YSRTP with the Congress party.
It makes me very happy that YSR Telangana Party is going to be a part of the Indian National Congress.” Today.” Sharmila emphasized the Congress Party’s contribution to the nation and called it the country’s “largest secular party”. Sharmila said, “Congress party is still the largest secular party in this country. Congress has always upheld the true culture of India and formed the foundation of our country. It has served all communities unwaveringly, uniting people from all sections of society in India.” She claimed that her father would be happy to see her following in his footsteps.
During the recent assembly elections held in Telangana, YS Sharmila had continuously supported the Congress party. He clarified that he did not contest the elections because it would have divided the votes. YSR Telangana Party was founded by Sharmila in July 2021. YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in a helicopter crash in 2008 after which his son Jagan Mohan Reddy formed his own party. Congress won absolute majority for the first time in Telangana by winning 64 out of 119 seats. Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which ruled India’s youngest state for 10 years, won 38 seats. According to party sources, Sharmila is likely to be given an important post in the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections and the Andhra Pradesh state assembly elections.
