Chandigarh: A very shameful incident has come to light in a madrasa located in Manimajra, Chandigarh. Here a teacher teaching Urdu did a disgusting thing with a minor child. After receiving a complaint in this matter, the police have arrested the accused.
According to the information, this case is of a madrasa located in Manimajra, Chandigarh. The 24-year-old teacher was arrested for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old 8th class student. The victim had informed his family about the matter. After this a complaint was made to the police.
The police say that 24-year-old Mohammad Salik is an Urdu teacher. He teaches Urdu to children. Mohammad Salik is a resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He has been teaching Urdu in the madrasa of the mosque since December 2023. He called the 13-year-old child to his room at 6 am on Friday. The child studies in class 8. The accused teacher touched the child inappropriately.
After receiving the complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused teacher and arrested him. The police have conducted a medical examination of the victim student and recorded his statement. The police is now investigating whether the accused teacher has been involved in such incidents earlier as well. The police is also recording the statements of the madrasa employees as part of the investigation of this case.
The police said that action has been taken against the accused Urdu teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Senior police officers including the Station House Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police were present at the madrasa to investigate the matter.
