Tamil Nadu: On Thursday, a young man was brutally murdered in Puducherry city.
Jayasuman (31), the son of Kamaraj and a resident of Gandhi Nagar 1st Cross Street in Pudukkottai city, had visited a liquor shop in Ashok Nagar on Thursday afternoon accompanied by his friend, Rajkapoor (a resident of Gandhi Nagar 4th Street). At that moment, a gang of approximately eight individuals attacked Jayasuman with sharp-edged weapons, killing him before fleeing the scene. Upon receiving the information, a police team led by City Police Sub-Inspector R. Vrinda recovered Jayasuman’s body and sent it to the Government Medical College Hospital.
Relatives of the deceased, Jayasuman—including his mother and wife—arrived at the spot; upon seeing Jayasuman lying in a pool of blood, they broke down in inconsolable grief. A sniffer dog was also brought in to assist with the investigation; the dog tracked a trail leading from Ashok Nagar toward Gandhi Nagar.
Revenge for Revenge… Jayasuman, the victim of this recent murder, was the second accused in the June 2025 murder case of Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Bose Nagar 8th Street near Pudukkulam. While Jayasuman was incarcerated, four of Dinesh Kumar’s friends had hurled a petrol bomb at his residence a few months ago.
Notably, Jayasuman had recently been released from jail on bail. Consequently, the police suspect that this murder may have been carried out as an act of retaliation for the killing of Dinesh Kumar.
The Ganesh Nagar Police have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation. The police have stated that two special teams have been constituted to probe this matter.
