Tamil Nadu : Chennai Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain in 7 districts in the next 2 hours.
Earlier it was reported that due to change in the speed of western wind, moderate rain is likely at one or two places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
In such a situation, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Tenkasi districts in the next 2 hours (till 10 am).
The report released by the Chennai Meteorological Department also said that light rain is likely in Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Theni and Dindigul districts.
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to receive 110 per cent more rain than the normal rainfall of 330 mm this year due to the southwest monsoon.
It has been told that monsoon rains are likely to be below normal in the northern interior districts of Tamil Nadu in June, while rains in other districts are likely to remain close to normal.
