Tamil Nadu: Sunil Bajpai has been appointed as the Principal Chief Commissioner of the Central Income Tax Department for the states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and has assumed charge.
Preeti Garg, the current Principal Chief Commissioner, was transferred to Karnataka-Goa in August last year. However, no one was immediately appointed as the Principal Chief Commissioner of the Income Tax Department for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, so Preeti Garg has been handling this additional responsibility for the past eight months. Currently, the Central Revenue Department has appointed Sunil Bajpai as the full-time Principal Chief Commissioner. The order was issued on April 10.
Sunil Bajpai, who previously served as the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Mumbai, has now been promoted to the position of Principal Chief Commissioner of the Central Income Tax Department for the states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
