Tamil Nadu: Students in Tamil Nadu are experiencing tremendous enthusiasm for the counseling process for admission to government-quoted seats in engineering colleges. A total of 251,796 students have registered online in the last 23 days, indicating intense competition for B.E. and B.Tech courses in the state.
The online application process for admission to government-allocated seats in B.E. and B.Tech undergraduate courses in government and private engineering universities and colleges in the state began on May 3rd. The process has been ongoing for the past 23 days, with a large number of students completing their applications by May 25th.
According to official data, 251,796 students have completed their counseling registration so far. A significant portion of these students have also updated their applications on time for further processing. This data reflects the growing interest in engineering education in the state.
The highest number of applications were recorded on two specific days during the registration process. On May 8th (Friday), 20,346 students applied, while on May 9th, 18,066 students completed their registration. The increase in applications on both days indicates that students’ awareness of the process has increased after the initial phase.
Furthermore, during this 23-day period, 180,063 students paid the prescribed application fee. 140,478 students successfully completed their application process by uploading the required documents and certificates. This data indicates that a large number of students have reached the final stage and are now awaiting the next round of counseling.
According to the Education Department, the online system has been strengthened to ensure a transparent and smooth counseling process, ensuring students do not face any difficulties. Necessary guidelines are also being issued to students from time to time.
Experts believe this growing interest in engineering courses reflects the demand for technical education in the state. Courses like B.E. and B.Tech. remain popular among young people, particularly because they offer promising employment opportunities.
Overall, the high student participation in this year’s Tamil Nadu Engineering Counseling is a positive sign for the education sector. The seat allocation and subsequent stages of the counseling process are expected to accelerate in the coming days.
