Tamil Nadu Election Results Could Be Surprising: Vaiko’s Statement

Tamil Nadu: MDMK General Secretary Vaiko has stated that the results of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections could be surprising. He made these remarks while interacting with journalists after hoisting the party flag at the headquarters in Egmore, Chennai, on the occasion of May Day.

During the event, Vaiko also addressed party workers and subsequently commented on the electoral atmosphere during his interaction with the media. He noted that various agencies have released differing projections regarding the recently published opinion polls, creating a sense of uncertainty regarding the political landscape.

Vaiko pointed out that while some surveys have predicted a victory for the ruling DMK—led by M.K. Stalin—two other opinion polls have suggested that the AIADMK could form the government once again. This clearly indicates that the electoral contest is likely to be quite close and unpredictable.

He further added that one opinion poll has even claimed that the ‘Tamil Nadu Victory Congress’ (TVCC)—led by actor-turned-politician Vijay—could secure a majority and form the government. However, this projection, too, remains a subject of intense discussion within political circles.

Vaiko observed that curiosity regarding the election results has heightened among the people of Tamil Nadu, with everyone eager to know who will form the next government in the state. He also remarked that, given the current circumstances, it is not easy to predict a definitive outcome.

He stated that the conflicting claims made by various opinion polls suggest that the political battle in the state is fierce, and the final results could turn out to be surprising. Vaiko asserted that the true picture would only become clear once the election results are declared.

In conclusion, he urged all political parties to respect the people’s verdict and maintain faith in the democratic process. He remarked, “It is best to simply wait for the results; only then will the situation become clear.”
