Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin interacted with the Tamil community in Spain on Sunday.
Speaking during a welcome ceremony, Stalin said, “As non-resident Tamils, you are trying your best for your motherland Tamil Nadu. I request you to continue this in future also,” he said.
The CM reminded that during the tenure of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, a government organization was formed to help non-resident Tamils in foreign lands. “But due to the change of power in the state, the organization was put on hold. Now, after the DMK government took power, the organization has been revived and it is addressing the issues faced by non-resident Tamils,” he said.
“So far, some conferences have been organized by the state government by inviting non-resident Tamils. Recently the state government has successfully organized the Global Investors Meet. It is a matter of pride not only for Tamil Nadu and India but also for Tamils living abroad.”
