Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is arriving in Kanyakumari on Tuesday (February 24) for a two-day visit.
The Chief Minister will arrive in Thoothukudi by plane from Chennai at 11 am to attend various events in Kanyakumari district. From there, he will travel to Kanyakumari by road.
The Chief Minister will then participate in a road show from Zero Point to the Thiruvalluvar Statue Silver Jubilee Commemorative Arch and meet the public. He will then inaugurate the decorative arch, constructed at a cost of ₹1.45 crore, at 1 pm.
He will leave Kanyakumari at 6:20 pm and inaugurate the Chief Minister’s statue of Karunanidhi at Kalladivalai in Nagercoil. Later, at the Sri C.P. Ramasamy Iyer Park at Veppamoodu Junction in Nagercoil, he will inaugurate the statue of Ponnappa Nada, constructed at a cost of ₹50 lakh.
The Chief Minister will attend a function at the Concordia School Grounds in Nagercoil on Wednesday (February 25) at 9:30 a.m., where he will deliver a special address, distribute welfare assistance to over 25,000 beneficiaries, inaugurate completed projects, and lay the foundation stone for new projects.
He will then depart Nagercoil at 10:30 a.m. for Thoothukudi, from where he will board a flight to Chennai at 1:25 p.m.
Preparations are underway for the Chief Minister’s visit. A large pandal has been erected at the Concordia School Grounds in Nagercoil. Traffic has been diverted in Nagercoil on February 24 and 25 in view of the Chief Minister’s visit. 2,500 police personnel will be deployed for security. Police personnel have also been deployed from Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts.
