Tamil Nadu: Chances of ‘centum’ decreasing in Class 10 Maths

Tamil Nadu: Teachers said the number of students scoring full marks in math in the 10th grade public exam is likely to decrease.

In Tamil Nadu, the 10th grade public exam, under the state syllabus, has been running since the 11th grade. Math, one of the most important subjects after Tamil and English, was held on Wednesday. Students said the math question paper contained mostly easy-to-answer questions. However, two questions in the one-mark section and two important questions in the two-mark section were indirect questions. Similarly, they said the absence of a much-awaited theorem in the five-mark section was disappointing.

Teachers said passing math won’t be a major problem. However, some questions may have disappointed students who were hoping to score 95 to 100. To that extent, questions were asked from within the subject area. They said the number of students scoring full marks in class 10 math is likely to decrease this year. The science subject exam will be held next Monday (30 March).
