Tamil Nadu: Due to continuous rain in Kanyakumari, tourists have been barred from bathing at Thirparappu Falls for the fourth consecutive day.
Due to the rain, 1,000 cubic feet of water has been released from Kanyakumari’s Pechiparai Dam every second.
The Meteorological Department had earlier reported that heavy rainfall is expected in several districts of southern Tamil Nadu, including Kanyakumari, due to atmospheric circulation in Kumarikadal and surrounding areas.
Due to the rain in Kanyakumari, the water level of the district’s major dams, such as Pechiparai, Perunchani, and Chittarar, is rising rapidly.
Following the warning of continuous rain, the district administration has taken all precautionary measures. As a result, it has barred tourists from visiting Thirparappu Falls for the fourth consecutive day.
