Tamil Nadu : On Tuesday, another person died due to inhaling poisonous gas while cleaning a human waste tank in a dye factory. A case has been registered against four people including the owner of the dye factory in this regard.
A private dye factory is running in Karaipudur near Palladam in Tirupur district. More than 50 workers are working inside the premises here. The septic tank of the toilet used by the workers living in the hostel is also here. On Monday, five people including Saravanan (30), Venugopal (31), Hari Krishnan (26) and Chinnaswamy (36) of Sundamedtai near Tirupur went down to clean this human waste tank.
At that time, Saravanan and Venugopal died on the spot due to the attack of poisonous gas. Also, Harikrishnan, Chinnaswamy and Muthukumar, who helped save them, were admitted to a private hospital in Tirupur in an unconscious state. Harikrishnan died on Tuesday without any treatment in this case.
In this regard, the Palladam Police Department has registered a case against dye factory owner Naveen, manager Dhanpal, supervisor Arvind and driver Chinnaswamy under four sections including Manual Defecation Prevention Act and Prevention of Atrocities Act and is investigating. Meanwhile, the bodies of the three deceased have been kept at Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. At that time, various organizations had demanded the district administration to give proper compensation to the families of the deceased.
