Tamil Nadu: On Thursday, a government bus parked on the road near Cholavandan in Madurai district caused a commotion when it started moving on its own and fell into a paddy field.
Cholavandan is home to the State Transport Corporation’s branch office. Mahalingam, a driver from the area, was driving a government bus from there to Madurai on Thursday morning.
Without turning off the engine, he parked it near a workshop and got out. At that very moment, the bus started moving on its own and fell into a paddy field on the side of the road.
Upon learning of this, people rushed to the spot and stopped the bus. Since there were no passengers on the bus, no untoward incident occurred. The incident caused a commotion in the area.
The Cholavandan police are investigating the matter.
