Tamil Nadu: A young man who had a love marriage in Tirupur was stabbed to death by his uncles who then fled.
Gautam (22) hails from Uthankarai in Krishnagiri district. He is a mechanic. Two years ago, he fell in love with a woman from Murugampalayam in Tirupur and married her. He moved to Krishnagiri with his family due to strong opposition to their marriage. A week ago, the couple had a child. He brought the baby to his wife’s home in Tirupur, hoping that if he showed her the baby, they would reconcile.
On Sunday, while walking on the road near Iduvampalayam, Gautam was stopped by a gang in a car and a two-wheeler, stabbed, and fled. Bystanders rescued him and sent him to Coimbatore, where he is undergoing intensive treatment.
Upon receiving information about this, the Veerapandi police have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
During the investigation, the police are also investigating whether Gautam had any issues with some people in the area regarding love marriages, and whether they may have been involved in this incident.
