Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday distributed appointment orders to 10 of the 1,598 recently recruited government employees. These orders were distributed as part of a program organized to assist 3.5 lakh individuals selected for various benefits through 2,508 camps organized under the ‘Makkaludan Mudhalvar’ scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Stalin said, “This scheme has been started to take government services to the doorsteps of the people. It was conceived after my observations during the ‘Kala Ayvil Mudhalwar’ scheme when I realized that people were finding it difficult to avail government services. Since unnecessary delays and queries have been avoided, people are now able to avail government services quickly and easily. This scheme has addressed the grievances of the physically challenged and the elderly.
Stalin said a total of 3.5 lakh people were selected for various benefits through 2,508 camps organized under the scheme. Regarding job opportunities, he said 60,567 youth have been given employment, and steps are being taken to fill 10,000 vacancies by June, with a target to fill a total of 50,000 vacancies in the next two years.
Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena, ministers Ma Subramaniam, Udhayanidhi Stalin, PK Shekharbabu, GCC Mayor R Priya, Deputy Mayor M Magesh Kumar and elected representatives were present.
