Tamil Nadu: 1.41 lakh elderly and disabled people cast their votes by post.

Tamil Nadu: The Election Commission has reported that 1.41 lakh senior citizens and persons with disabilities over the age of 85 have cast postal votes in Tamil Nadu so far.

Election Commission officials stated that government employees on election duty, senior citizens over the age of 85, and persons with disabilities are considered eligible to vote by post. Accordingly, 1.91 lakh of these individuals have applied to vote.

Following this, election officials are working to collect postal votes from them. So far, 1.41 lakh postal votes have been collected from their homes. Of these, 89,000 are over the age of 85. This work is ongoing.

Government employees on election duty are also casting postal votes at district-level training centers. Voter information slips are being distributed door-to-door.
