Bhubaneswar: Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, the elected member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Talsara constituency, in Sundergarh district of Odisha has filed nominations for Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. He filed the nominations at the office of the Assembly Secretary.
In an important decision today the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in Odisha, picked Talsara MLA Bhabani Shankar Bhoi as the the Deputy speaker.
The Talsara MLA filed the nominations amid presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi as well as Deputy CMs KV Singhdeo and Pravati Parida and other ministers.
Bhoi is a second time MLA. Initially, he was elected in the 2019 elections and recently elected in the 2024 polls for the second time as the MLA from Talsara on BJP ticket. In the recent polls he defeated Binaya Kumar Toppo of BJD by 68928 votes.
