‘Take M V Jayarajan’s response’; CPM state secretary evades questions on Manu Thomas

NEW DELHI: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan practised silence when media raised questions about expelled Kannur district committee member Manu Thomas. The state secretary directed the media to ask the same question to the district committee secretary but not him. M V Govindan was talking to the media in Delhi on Saturday.

“Why should the state committee respond on some matter related to the district committee? These are all the news weaved by the media. We are not ready to intervene in the matter. If you want a response, please contact M V Jayarajan, the district secretary.” Govindan also accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of hounding CPM in the Karuvannur case and termed it as ‘Politically motivated’. He also said that CPM would fight the case legally and politically.
