Surveillance of miscreants increased in Meerut range, action taken against hundreds of criminals

Meerut: With the aim of effectively controlling criminals and strengthening surveillance of active criminals, the police have taken major action under Operation History Sheeter, being conducted in the Meerut Range. During the campaign, a total of 6,846 history-sheeters were verified in the four districts of the range: Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, and Hapur in June. During this period, police opened history sheets for 67 new criminals, while the HS records of five history-sheeters were destroyed after their deaths.

The campaign, being conducted under the direction of Meerut Range DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, aims to monitor criminal activities and take timely action against active criminals. The police have fully entered the data of all history-sheeters into the Yaksh app. Sub-inspector-level officers will now regularly verify history-sheeters.

According to police officials, this digital monitoring system will help keep current information on criminals’ current activities, criminal records, and other important information up to date. This will assist the police in taking swift and effective action to control crime.

13 New History Sheets Opened in Meerut
History sheets were opened for 13 new criminals in Meerut district during the month of June. 268 history-sheeters are imprisoned here, while the data of 2,584 criminals has been recorded on the Yaksh app. Police are continuously monitoring the activities of these criminals.

Bulandshahr has the highest number of history sheets, with 45 new criminals opened.
Bulandshahr district saw the highest number of actions during the campaign. History sheets were opened for 45 new criminals. According to the police, 220 history-sheeters are in jail in the district, and the data of 2,314 criminals has been uploaded to the Yaksh app.

Actions were also taken in Baghpat and Hapur
Eight new history sheets were opened in Baghpat district during the month of June. 184 history-sheeters are imprisoned here, and the information of 1,066 criminals has been recorded on the Yaksh app. Meanwhile, a history sheet was opened for one criminal in Hapur district. There are 101 history-sheeters in jail, and the data of 882 criminals has been recorded on a digital platform.

DIG Kalanidhi Naithani has instructed all district in-charges of the range to regularly verify history-sheeters and take strict preventive action against those currently active. He directed that an Additional Superintendent of Police be appointed as the nodal officer in each district. Action should be taken to open history-sheeters based on the activities of criminals with 10 or more cases registered against them. Additionally, criminals with seven or more cases should be identified and necessary action should be taken.

The DIG instructed station in-charges to regularly review the records of history-sheeters. Personal information of criminals, such as name, identification mark, date of birth, mobile number, latest photo, identity card, and criminal history, should be updated periodically. Police say that Operation History-Sheeter is strengthening the monitoring system for criminals, effectively controlling crime in the area.
