A meeting of the Surat City Road Safety Council was held under the chairmanship of Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar. In the meeting held at the Commissioner of Police’s office, the Commissioner of Police gave instructions to take strict action against the errant drivers in view of the accidents happening due to BRTS and city buses in the city. Along with this, instructions have been given to remove the encroachment on the service road due to the operation of Metro.
Immediate settlement will be allotted to remove the encroachment
Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar said that the encroachment branch of Surat Municipal Corporation will immediately allocate assistance to any place in the city seeking police assistance for relief operations. Instructed the highway officials to install speed limit sign boards on the national highway from Bhatia Tolanaka to Hazira.
269 cattle caught in a month

Trees planted in the BRTS corridor will be pruned from time to time
Out of 158 traffic signals, 50 signals have been commissioned in Surat city. With the commissioning of the remaining 118 soon, a total of 276 signals will be functional in the city, the official said. Keeping in view the accidents, the Horticulture Department was instructed to prune the trees at the crossing of the BRTS route from time to time. Sign boards have been covered due to trees in some areas of the city.
