Bilaspur. Police have arrested two people including a minor with intoxicating cough syrup. The accused told the police that a medical practitioner from Jharkhand had given it to them. Based on interrogation, the police is looking for other accused involved in this business.
The case is from Sarkanda police station area. Sarkanda TI Nilesh Pandey said that on Sunday, information was received that two people were waiting for customers near Urja Park with intoxicating cough syrup. As soon as the news was received, the police team surrounded and caught Atharva Soumya Singh (23) resident of Muni Baba Gali Sarkanda and a minor. 55 bottles of banned cough syrup were found in their bag. It was seized and both were brought to the police station.
During interrogation, the accused told that the medical store operator of the ashram in Devghar, Jharkhand had given them the banned syrup to give to Tanu Meshram alias Bhaancha, a resident of Sarkanda. After interrogation, the police have arrested the accused minor. Atharva has also been arrested. Meanwhile, as soon as the information about the seizure of the syrup and the arrest of the associates was received, the accused Tanu Meshram fled. The police raided his hideouts. But, he was not found. The police is searching for him.
