Sunil Aggarwal gets bail from Supreme Court in coal scam case

Raipur. The Supreme Court has granted bail to Sunil Aggarwal of Indramani Group, accused in the coal scam case. The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Sunil Aggarwal on October 11, 2022 in a coal scam worth more than Rs 500 crore. According to ED lawyer Saurabh Kumar Pandey, coal businessman Sunil Agarwal, arrested in the coal scam case, has been granted interim bail for 6 weeks. Earlier, his bail plea was rejected by the High Court. A coal scam worth Rs 540 crore had come to light in the ED investigation. In the case, ED had arrested Indramani Coal director Sunil Aggarwal on 11 October 2022.

Sunil Aggarwal is accused of converting coal black money into white and investing in properties. For relief in this case, Sunil Aggarwal had filed a bail petition for the first time in the High Court on 15 February 2020. Which was rejected by the High Court. Now Sunil Aggarwal has got bail from the Supreme Court. Let us tell you that in this game of commission fraud in coal transportation, ED has arrested State Administrative Service officer Soumya Chaurasia, Suryakant Tiwari, his uncle Laxmikant Tiwari, Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Sameer Bishnoi and coal businessman Sunil Aggarwal in a scam of more than Rs 500 crore. More than 9 people were arrested. After being interrogated, he has been lodged in Raipur jail on judicial remand.
