Tragedy struck Siddipet Medical College. A junior doctor committed suicide by taking poison injection. Fellow junior doctors who noticed this immediately rushed her to the hospital, but to no avail. She passed away on Saturday midnight while undergoing treatment at NIMS Hospital.
Going into details.. Lavanya from Jogulamba Gadwal district is a 2020 batch student of Siddipet Medical College. She has completed her house surgeon qualification.. and is currently doing her internship at Siddipet Government General Hospital. Lavanya fell ill while on labor duty on Friday morning. Due to this, she took treatment in the casual department and went to the college hostel. It is not known what happened next.. but on Saturday morning, she attempted suicide by injecting marijuana in the hostel itself.
Fellow junior doctors who noticed this immediately rushed her to GGH. As her condition was critical, she was shifted to NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. She died on Saturday midnight while undergoing treatment there. Medical college staff say that Lavanya committed suicide due to the pressure of internship duties and NEET PG preparation. Based on the complaint of Lavanya’s family members, Siddipet Three Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
