Strictness on private schools in Mahendragarh, new admissions closedC

Narnaul. Ignoring the rules of the Right to Education (RTE) Act has cost 33 private schools of Mahendragarh district dearly. Haryana Education Department has closed the MIS (Management Information System) portal of these schools. Due to this, admissions of new students in these schools have completely stopped. After the action of the department, registration of new students, admission process and class allotment is not taking place in these schools since July 7. Parents are also facing problems due to this. The Education Department has taken action against 1107 such private schools across the state. Information about 25 percent reserved seats was not given According to the information, under the RTE Act, 25 percent seats are reserved in private schools for children of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and deprived sections. Schools have to provide information related to these seats on the MIS portal. It is alleged that these 33 private schools of Mahendragarh district did not update the details of seats reserved under RTE on the portal. Apart from this, some schools also did not provide the necessary documents related to recognition as per the prescribed standards. After this, the Education Department took action to close the MIS portal of schools which did not follow the rules. Registration of new students closed Due to closure of MIS portal, the concerned schools are no longer able to register new students online. Along with this, the process of new admissions and class allotment has also been affected. This situation has become a cause of trouble for school administrators and parents. Many parents are making rounds of schools for admission of their children, but due to closure of the portal, the process is not progressing. Relief to students already studying However, the Education Department has not closed these schools completely. At present these schools have been allowed to issue School Leaving Certificate (SLC) only for the students already studying. That means important work related to old students can be done, but admission of new students cannot be taken. The department laid emphasis on following the rules The Education Department says that it is the responsibility of all private schools to follow the RTE Act. To provide the right to education to the children of economically weaker sections, it is mandatory to provide information about reserved seats and other important records on time. The department has clarified that those schools which fulfill the prescribed rules and update the necessary information on the portal, their MIS portal can be considered for restarting. Increased concern of parents The concern of parents has increased due to the halt in the admission process. Many families are worried about the admission of children in the new academic session. Parents say that the negligence of schools should not affect the future of children. At present, after the action of the Education Department, all the concerned private schools have been instructed to follow the RTE rules and provide the pending information soon. The admission process of these schools will be restarted only after monitoring by the department.
