Tamil Nadu: Storm warning beacons have been installed at ports including Chennai, Nagapattinam, and Pamban.
The deep depression over the Kumari Sagar and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka intensified into a low pressure area by Wednesday midnight.
Furthermore, it is expected to move in a north-northwesterly direction and intensify into a deep depression over the next 12 hours and move towards the northern Tamil Nadu coast.
In view of this situation, Cyclone Warning Cage No. 1 has been installed at ports including Chennai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ennore, Kattupalli, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
Similarly, Cyclone Warning Cage No. 3 has been installed at the two ports of Pamban and Rameswaram.
