Raigarh: Police caught the vehicle near Bhatli According to the information, Sariya Police was patrolling in the police station area in connection with regular investigation. Meanwhile, a youth was caught by Sariya Police while smuggling ganja from Odisha under the cover of cabbage vegetable in Bhatli Chowk.
chhattisgarh news On seeing the police, the accused youth tried to escape by leaving the vehicle. But Sariya Police caught him. Sariya police station in-charge Pramod Yadav said that about two and a half quintals of ganja was caught while bringing it from Odisha in a Mazda Metador vehicle under the cover of vegetables. The accused youth is said to be from Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. During interrogation, he told that he was bringing ganja from Odisha. And was taking it to Madhya Pradesh. The Mazda vehicle is said to be from Bilaspur. The accused youth had rented a vehicle and was transporting ganja.
chhattisgarh The vehicle was filled with tomato crates and cabbage in sacks. Ganja was cleverly hidden in between to deceive the police. As per the information given by the station in-charge Pramod Yadav, two and a half quintals of ganja worth about 25 lakh rupees and a Mazda car worth 5 lakh rupees and a mobile phone were seized from the possession of the accused. The police is taking further action in this case.
