Raigarh. To recover the tractor stolen from Pusaur police station area, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel, Pusaur police successfully carried out a bold operation with Odisha Police and recovered the stolen tractor from the Naxal area of Odisha and arrested 03 accused. City Superintendent of Police Akash Shukla told the press that on July 26, 2024, Govind Ram Patel, resident of Chhote Bhandar, Police Station Pusaur, lodged a report of theft of his tractor number CG13AH6160 (John Deere) at Police Station Pusaur. According to the report, on July 08, 2024 at 6:30 pm, Patel had parked his tractor on the roadside in front of the house, but at 5:00 am the tractor was found missing.
Pusaur police started action promptly considering the seriousness of the incident. Under the leadership of SHO Rohit Kumar Banjare, CCTV footage installed around the spot was examined, in which three unknown persons were seen taking the tractor at 2:00 am. Based on the CCTV footage, the police determined the route and investigated the tractor and the suspects in Sariya, Bhukta, Amabhauna and Bhathli. There was no trace of the tractor after Bargarh bus stand in Odisha.
SHO Rohit Banjare raided various places in Odisha four times and deployed informers to search for the culprit. During this time, Pusaur TI was informed by the informer about seeing a person named Gurudev with a tractor from Chhattisgarh in Bargarh (Odisha). The police team detained Gurudev with the help of local police and after rigorous interrogation, his two other accomplices—Chhotu alias Raj Sah and Balram Sahu alias Ricky were also arrested.
Mode of crime: The accused admitted in their statement that they had come to Chandrapur on 08 July 2024. At night, they stole a John Deere tractor from village Bade Bhandar and drove it with Gurudev to Bargarh via Chandrapur-Dabhra-Saria-Bhukta. They tried to sell the tractor in Bargarh, but the deal could not be finalized. After this, they took the tractor to Balangir and Raigarha, but could not find a buyer there either. When the tractor broke down, the accused hid it in the dense forest of village Dagsorda.
Police action: – The place where the stolen tractor was hidden is a Naxal-affected area of District Raigarh, Odisha. Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel, in coordination with senior officials of Odisha Police, dispatched a team under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Pusaur. The teams of Raigarh and Odisha Police, taking security measures, towed the tractor to the city and duly seized it.
