Steps will be taken to stop the increase in petrol prices: Suresh Gopi

Tamil Nadu: Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Tourism Suresh Gopi stated that necessary steps will be taken to control the rising petrol prices after discussions with officials of petroleum companies. He stated that the government’s objective is to reduce the burden of rising fuel costs on the general public.
Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi arrived in Coimbatore on Tuesday to attend a meeting. This meeting was held as part of a consultation program with eight district officials. Following the meeting, he spoke to reporters at the airport and clarified the government’s position on fuel prices.
He stated that continuous discussions are being held with senior officials of petroleum companies to mitigate the impact of fluctuations in international crude oil prices. He stated that several efforts have been made to control the rise in global oil prices in the past few months, and work in this direction will continue.
Suresh Gopi also stated that the central government’s priority is to provide relief to the public from the pressure of inflation. The government is continuously taking steps to prevent excessive increases in fuel prices and to prevent additional financial burdens on ordinary people.
Referring to the international situation, he said that global events like the Russia-Ukraine war are affecting the energy market. He said that it is difficult to say when this war will end, but the entire world should hope for it to end soon.
He also praised the development work done in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that India’s infrastructure sector has improved significantly in the last 12 years and the country is rapidly moving towards sustainable development.
The Minister said that significant improvements have been made in sectors such as roads, energy, transportation, and urban development, which have strengthened the country’s economic potential. He also said that the government’s goal is to provide better facilities to the common citizens along with development.
The Minister’s statement is being considered significant amid concerns raised about fuel prices. It is hoped that, after coordination with petroleum companies, concrete steps can be taken to stabilize prices.
Currently, the government and relevant departments are continuously monitoring this issue to limit the impact of the international market within the country and provide relief to the general public.
