Raipur. Motivating the players, Minister Verma said that heights cannot be reached without hard work, if we look at the lives of great people of history, then struggle, sacrifice and dedication are associated with their lives. Sports Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma today reached the closing ceremony of the 24th State Level School Sports Competition organized at J.R. Dani School in the capital. 1790 players and 300 coaches from schools of all divisions of the state participated in this competition organized for the last four days. Raipur division was given the title of overall championship in this competition.
Minister Verma, while addressing the program, said that the competition is an excellent platform to showcase talent. Various schemes are being run to enhance sports talent in the government of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. In the decoration day ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai announced to reward those players of the state who will win gold medal in the Olympics with Rs 3 crore.
Minister Tank Ram Verma said that the players present here today have come to participate in the state level games, the government’s intention is that the players not only bring glory to the state at the state level but also at the national and international level. Every possible effort is being made to ensure that the players of the state get an opportunity to showcase their talent at the national and international level. In the program, he said that sports develop team spirit along with physical and mental development. There is always victory and defeat in sports, it is a bad thing to sit down after losing.
It is known that about 1790 participating players and 300 coaches from 05 divisions of Chhattisgarh state participated in the state level school sports competition. In this competition going on for the last 04 days, players of 10 games basketball, hockey, football, roller skating, squash, soft tennis, boxing, taekwondo, cycling and archery participated in the competition.
