Kerala: The state government has allotted Rs 74.20 crore to KSRTC, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal said. The assistance was provided for repayment of loans taken by the corporation from primary cooperative societies for pension distribution. KSRTC has been allotted Rs 900 crore in the budget for this financial year. Out of this, Rs 864.91 crore has already been made available. The second Pinarayi government has so far given Rs 6044 crore to the corporation. Also, the government has sanctioned Rs 45 crore assistance to traditional sector workers as part of Onam.
The state government has allotted Rs 74.20 crore to KSRTC. This amount was made available under the minimum wage scheme. 8,94,922 workers will get Onam benefits, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal said. The benefit of the income support scheme is distributed in the sectors of coir, fisheries, handloom, khadi, cane, panam, bidi and cigar. Along with this, the Finance Department has issued an order to fix a festival allowance of Rs 2750 to the officials of public sector institutions. Daily wage employees will get a holiday allowance of Rs 1250.
