Srikakulam: One person died and 30 others were injured when two buses collided in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Officials gave this information on Monday. The accident occurred on the national highway near Mogilipadu in Palasa mandal. The heirs were immediately shifted to Palasa Government Hospital, while the body of the fallen man was sent for autopsy. Gauri, police inspector, Kasibugga, Andhra Pradesh, said the accident occurred when the bus carrying pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh tried to overtake and collided with another bus from behind. “The bus overtook the other bus in an attempt to overtake. “As a result one person died and thirty were injured,” he said. The front part of a bus involved in the accident was completely damaged. Police said a case has been registered and investigation into the accident has been initiated. More details are expected. Meanwhile, on Monday morning, two buses collided on Yamuna Highway in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, in which at least 40 people died. The incident took place at Mile Stone 110 Raya Cut in Mathura. The accident happened at around 3 in the morning when a bus was going From Dholpur to Noida it joined another bus which had gone from Etawah to Noida. Apart from this, six people were killed and five others were injured in a collision between two cars in Rajasthan’s Sikar district on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened on a road in Laxmangarh tehsil. Both vehicles were destroyed in the accident.
